Can reflux get worse?

I have a 4 month old lady that has silent reflux. He has been taking Gaviscon for 2 months and things seemed to get better and we were even thinking of stop giving it to him.

Last Thursday we all got a sickness and diarreah bug, him included, and even though he is better he is still pooing all the time and he doesn’t seem like himself.

I have noticed that this week he is again fussing when feeding and arching his back. Could this sickness bug have affected his digested system and get the reflux back again?
