InactiveOur new pediatrician prescribed Bethanechol for DD, taking together with either prevacid or zantac (our choice), since DD’s reflux issues haven’t improved much. She still has lots of flare ups on prevacid (30mg/day) and Zantac. He said since both prevacid & zantac does the same job (reduce acid production) he sees no reasons why she should be on both (this method was from our previous ped). So he prescribed Bethanechol. This is suppose to help her reflux heal faster, or something like that. I’ve done some research and it shows significant improvement for patients who took Bethanechol. I’m wondering if anyone heard of this or has any first hand experience on this medication.
I haven’t fill out the prescription yet and still debating..
Thanks!

Keymasterthe bethanechol is for DGE. DGE is Delayed Gastric Emptying.
I believe there is a test for this to see if it’s needed, called a Milk Scan Test OR you can just give the med and see if it helps.Normal
