Is there anything OTC that can be given for burning that reflux causes? My daughter is on zantac and we had a doc appt today but it got cancelled due to snow and ice. She has a bad problem of spitting the zantac back out of her mouth and she is in pain right now. Is there anything like how we take tums is there a baby version or something else that can be given to her?

mylanta cherry supreme! It worked like a charm for us. some of the other liquid antacids (maalox, regular mylanta) are aluminum based, but the mylanta cherry supreme is calcium based, so that was a good one. I would tell you that you could use any brand that was calcium based. when we had a hard time finding it, we used cherry flavored maalox for Carter. I think it was aluminum based, but I was just cautious not to use too much to often and he was fine.

Definitely a big help!!!

look for cvs brand – look at ingredients to find one w/o aluminum-
it’s the adult kind- there is nothing for babies specifically-
you can mix the zantac WITH the mylanta to help it go down better-
you can give 1ml of mylanta at a time (or less)- up to 5mls over a 24hr time period- if you see loose stools, just back off
