So we thought our little guy was improving on the BB+Prilosec. He’s been on it for 2 weeks (the Zegerid either made him super gassy or have diarrhea), he seemed happier, less gassy, and his naps were stretching out to 25-30 mins. After a few days on it, he got a tummy bug. Since then, he doesn’t seem to want to eat much during the day (will take a couple of hours to finish a 5 ounce bottle), but at 2:30 in the morning, he will down a 6 ounce bottle in about 10 minutes. It’s gotten worse the last 2 days because he got his 6 month vaccinations yesterday. He’s basically been up since 2:30 am, ate 6 ounces, was refluxing, awake, not wanting to go to sleep, and then this morning it took him 2 hours to eat 6 ounces. It’s been 3 hours since he ate, so I’m trying to get him to eat again, and it’s taken 1 hour to get him to eat 3 ounces. He’s not visibly in any pain, is happy, but just doesn’t want to eat. But, I know at 2:30 this morning it will all start over again. We are at our wit’s end and really need some suggestions on how to deal with this. I want him to EAT during the day and SLEEP at night!! Since 2:30 this morning he’s slept at most 2 1/2 hours– 1/2 hour in his crib, 1 1/2 hours in my arms, and then a 20 min nap. I’ve heard that PPIs can cause appetite loss along with the acid loss, has anyone experiences anything like this? I’m at the point where we’re going to just let him cry in the middle of the night and see what happens… Any help would be appreciated!
