InactiveI really don’t know where to start….
My little girl is 4 months old. She started refluxing right after she was born, and it progressivley got worse. She has been on 5 different formulas, two different meds, been to the chiropractor 3x a week for 2 months, and is also on a probiotic. We have had an upper GI done, we had a sonogram as well. All tests were normal, no obstructions or PS. We have been to a “specialist” nurse in our area, and really didn’t learn anything that we haven’t already learned. She has to be constantly held, and I know that she is in pain. I fear that she is doing severe damage to her esophogus. She was 7lbs when she was born, and is now only 11 lbs.We have been thickening her feedings, she is currently on 2.5 ml of Prilosec 2x day, and on Alimentum formula.I am desperate for any advice. My son who is 3 had reflux, but it wasn’t even close to this severe. Thanks in advance!April 7, 2010 at 7:41 pm #66151hellbennt

& welcome! you’ve found a great place!the
key to all of this is RESEARCH and, of course, support!http://www.marci-kids.com is at the FOREFRONT
of research of PPI use and dosing in infants/todders. You might want to
start there to see if PPI dose is ‘proper’then,
hop back here to learn HOW to get that proper dose and what FORM of PPI and HOW to administer…your liquid most likely isn’t being made correctly…Prevacid
101(last post on the page): https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1936&PN=0&TPN=1unfortunately,
the majority of drs & pharmacists don’t know…babies metabolisms’ are much
faster than adults, so the drugs work differently with them…after
medication, you might then want to look at diet…what are you thickening with? you may want to look into a thickener rather than cereal, if you’re using cereal. or you might need a cereal w/o any added milk or soy…or if you’re using rice, you might want to try oatmeal or barley…I
have a LOT MORE TO SAY! and most of it is here:Groupie Intro:
