My 8 week old son is on Prevacid….and according to the Marci-kids dosing, he should be taking 1/2 Solutab 3 times a day. The 30 minute rule is tough enough during the day…but it’s SO tough during the night. For example, I usually give him his nighttime dose around 7pm, which makes him ready for his next dose at 2am. However, if he’s sleeping-I really don’t want to wake him! Then he’s aware of his empty tummy, and screams for the next 1/2 hour until I can feed him and put him back to sleep. But I feel bad if I let him sleep through the dose, because I don’t want that acid wearing down his esophagus and making his larangomalacia worse.

Any ideas or suggestions??

I didn’t do prevacid 3x/day but the moms that have done it I think usually tried to get all the doses in during the daytime hours. I used to give my son his at 6:30am and 5:30pm (we were on 15mg 2x/day) So if we were doing 3x/day I probably would have done 6:30am around like 1:30 or 2pm and then again at his bedtime. HTH.

you could try zantac in the middle of the night & see if that helps- look up his weight http://www.sfca.co.uk/match/kilolbs.htm and (we can help you) figure out zantac dose- zantac needs to be given 4hrs from prevacid but can be given near a ‘meal’ so this might help?https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8288&PN=1
