My 8 1/2 month old daughter has been on Zegerid for 5 months. She has been doing very well and as been comfortable since we switched her. In the past 2 days, she has thrown up 4 out of 6 doses. Since this has happened, she is constitpated and screams in pain. She is also refluxing.

This morning I was able to get her medicine down but I had mixed it in with a small amount of her formula. I read somewhere that I could do this and long as she took the whole amount of formula that was mixed in with the meds. She kept it down

Has anyone else experienced this with Zegerid? She immediately gags when you give her the med. She had been fine taking it for the past 5 months.

not sure about this happening out of no where? but you are right that you can give w/ her formula- just enough to help get it down…if it continues to be a problem, now that she is eating solids you could even switch to prevacid capsules- you would have to give on an empty stomach, though- you would open the capsules up, sprinkle the beads on a tsp of applesauce and then feed a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later. or solutabs- same thing regarding timing- solutabs need to be given on an empty stomach followed by a meal 30 minutes later.
if zegerid continue to work, then it’s nice bcse you don’t have to time around meals…

Are you sure there wasn’t something else going on with her? Touch of the flu, teething etc. As reflux mom’s we tend to pin most everything on reflux. Sometimes it is regular childhood illnesses that are the culprit.
