Keymasterjust keep giving it- try different temperatures of water and different amounts-try one ounce of water, then two ounces, etc.
try different sippies, too. like a straw one, etc…May 19, 2010 at 1:13 am #66360Anonymous
InactiveMy daughter didn’t tolerate water well when she had GERD. I don’t remember how old she was when she started taking water, but I’m sure it was much older than 7 months. She would spit it RIGHT back up….couldn’t handle it.
Now my little son has GERD, and he’s only 9 weeks. But sure enough…when we give him the Prevacid solutab, if we give him too much water with it (I mean 4 ml, vs 2 ml, he’ll spit it right back up.
Then I think back to when I had reflux when I was pregnant…and water bothered me more than anything!
So I guess what I’m saying is that in my experience, straight water does make reflux worse on the little ones especially. So I might increase his formula, if you feel you need to hydrate him more.
I could be wrong, though! 😉

KeymasterI don’t know much about formula, but can you water it down for extra bottles that you want for ‘just’ hydrating him?
or is it ok to give more formula?

Inactivehello! we saw the dr and he said we can give extra formula in the hot weather. he also said i can water it down. half water half formula if i wanted. im not going to do that tho. dom is a good weight right now. i guess if he gains excessive weight then i will water it down. hope this info helps others!
