Our GI Specialist started my son on 1 teaspoon of Prevacid each morning. I’ve noticed that my son struggles more with his afternoon feedings, so my doctor said to double the dose and give 1 teaspoon in the AM and 1 in the PM.
Does this seem like a reasonably safe dosage to you? My son is 10 weeks old and weighs 10 pounds.
Yes it was made by the pharmacy and has a shelf life of only 2 weeks (costs us $108.00). He spits out the medication so I’m actually not sure how much he is actually ingesting.
The doctor is now giving us the ‘solutabs’ but I haven’t yet picked them up from the pharmacy…
Thank you Laura. I’ve noticed that since he started on the Prevacid he’s started eating more and crying less during feedings, but (in my personal opinion) appears to now be demonstrating symptoms of Sandifer Syndrom. Specifically, he appears very uncomfortable, arches his head completely back, flails his arms and his legs kick. Should I be worried…??
