Infantreflux.org | How do I store the other half of the solutab?

We are using prevacid solutabs for our 2.5 month old daughter. Can I save the other half of the solutab to use tomorrow? How?

I think you wrap it in foil so it’s ‘dark’ & put in the fridge

you can do a search (play around w/ it, lol)- go to the upper right-hand corner of this page & click on search
use the drop-down menu & choose 6months and EARLIER to learn from everyone who may be gone from the board

have you had a chance to read Prevacid 101 yet? I’m not sure this info is there (storing the solutab), but there is a lot of helpful info there

Thanks for the storage idea. We are still trying to find the meds and doses that work for us. I will probably wait a little while before trying to store the extra halves as I don’t want that extra noise in our experiments right now. Once we get to a more consistent approach I will be wanting to use the whole pill though.

Thank you also for the link to prevacid 101. It was very useful and I enjoyed following the links inside for more good info.

all you need to do to store the other 1/2 is make sure it isn’t exposed to light. If the solutabs still come like they used too, you can just stick the other 1/2 back in the foil container and close it. The medicine is light sensitive so if it is exposed for too long it won’t be effective.

I’ve wondered about this myself. I didn’t know it was light sensitive, so thanks for the info!!
