Hi everyone, I am new here and could really use some help.
DS is 3 months and is having severe feeding aversions. He
is currently still gaining, but it is painfully slow, even on 24 cal
Elecare.
He is typically a silent refluxer, but about once a day, he
projectile vomits several hours after a feed, and the milk is curdled.
He is on Zegerid, and I believe the acid is under control.
We asked his GI doc about DGE, and she prescribed us erythromycin and told us to dose him at .2mls 4x per day.
So I have a couple of questions:
1. If this works, how soon should I expect to start seeing some results?
2. How should I dose this? Should I give it prior to feedings, with feedings, with Zegerid?
3. Any positive experiences to share? Has anyone had their child reduce feeding aversions after starting it?
4. Is there a dosing guideline anywhere? Our Ped GI is known for prescribing super low doses that are no where near effective, so I want to make sure that if we are going to give it a shot, that we are giving a good dose.
I have to believe this is going to work. Seriously, feedings are a
nightmare and I NEED to believe that there is something that can fix it.
I appreciate any insight you girls have. In my opinion, this board is FULL of experts!
