My husband and I are at our wits end! We went 10 1/2 months without a non breathing episode. We were told that our 1 year old should be starting to out grow her reflux. Last Sunday (my birthday) she went into a non breathing episode and we had to call 911. We are working with our GI very closely and infact she is now running this by her GI team through Children’s Hospital to help our daughter. Every specialist and our pediatrician says this is the worst case of reflux they have seen. Sophie is maxed out on Reglan, Zegerid, and EryPed.
Here is my question…Has anyone heard of a baby being put on a H2 blocker (Zantac) and a PPI med (Zegerid) at the same time???? I am desperate and just trying to look at every angle. I wanted to run it by here before I email my thoughts to our GI.
We went to a Ears, Nose, and Throat specialist the other day and he said it is reflux….we already knew that. He recommended the surgery. He is NOT a GI doc and he was making this call….our daughter also has motility issues which could make her not a candidate for the surgery.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be so appreciated!
Thank you to everyone for your support!
