My 6 month old has been on Previcid for months now (the dissolvable tablets). I’ve always noticed little tiny brown “beads” in her spit up and just assumed they were partially digested microbeads that look to be in the tablet (when you dissolve it in water, you can see the tiny pink beads, which I guess are the time release capsules of medicine).
I am wondering if that is common, or if I should start worrying that this might be something totally separate. Has anyone noticed this or heard of this with Previcid??
I’d say it’s working well but not perfectly, LOL. I guess it’s a little concerning because I’m not sure if these little things are indeed from the solutab, KWIM? I’ve read about little black specks in vomit/stool as being a bad thing, so I was thinking along those lines. They’re not black, but still.
I’ll try and get a picture of them at some point today if I see them, so you can see what I mean.
I experienced the same thing with my little guy on solutabs and thought it was coffee ground emesis, hubby freaked called the ped and she said this was normal with solutabs. Now he’s on nexium b/c of gas that solutabs caused and it doesn’t happen anymore. In natural sunlight they are a deep purple. GL!! Hope this helped!
