Hi everyone

Has anyone experienced green poop from the prevacid fastabs? I notice these poops also smell sort of chemically. He hasnt really had green poops until on the prevacid, he was on it, then off now on again and I’m noticing a pattern. Would you stop as a result?

I’m awaiting zegerid but dont have it yet. He’s been on the prevacid maybe a week and I havent really noticed much difference. He’s also on zantac and domperidone.

I don’t think I’d stop, because you need the medicine in his system- it can take up to 14 days to see the full effects of the medicine…

are you giving on an empty stomach, followed by a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later?

have you checked dose/read Prevacid 101?

are you spacing the zantac 4 hrs from the prevacid?

have you checked zantac dose (also link from prevacid 101)

I know hes not on the proper dose of prevacid. I’m waiting for caracream to start zegerid (my doctor wont give me more prevacid and only the fastabs).

I’ve read that there is aspertame in the fastabs and that some babies react to this.

I hate waiting for the caracream! I have the zegerid now but it’s just sitting there waiting! AHHH!!! It’s the OTC kind btw.

it’s a sickness…but I’m happy to help!

(it’s a sickness that I can’t get away from this board- everytime I do, I think about all the idiot doctors out there telling mamas all the wrong information…)

while you wait for the caracream, do you have any zantac that you can add back in? make sure to give it spaced 4hrs from the prevacid. the dosing is 10mgs per kilo (don’t just take my word on it, there’s a link to the dosing from Prevacid 101)…
