InactiveHey all,
So, I’m quickly giving up faith all together on the Prevacid. I haven’t recieved the Caracream Max in the mail yet so we are still having to give the compound from the pharmacy. We have yet to see any effect or anything positive from it. I don’t know if the compound lost it’s effectiveness before it could take effect or not. But Seth is worse than ever. Refluxing constantly. Now we’re getting mucousy spitup. My question is, can Zegrid OTC be used and made up with the Caracream Max or do you have to get the packets from the Ped?? My pediatrician is wonderful but very resistant to an increased dose of prevacid because of his age. I know she won’t go for the Zegrid. She said that because he isn’t 4 months old, he must have a compound. Can you break open the Zegrid OTC capsules and make it with the Caracream Max??I’m willing to try anything at this point. Also, could there be any dairy in Mylanta Cherry Supreme?? I gave some to Seth and he got really bad gas from it like he had dairy. We are on Soy formula because we think Seth is allergic to Milk. Anything milk based produces vomiting and a rash. Thanks so much all!TanyaMarch 15, 2011 at 9:39 am #68007hellbennt
Keymastertell your ped using caracream max IS like giving a compound- you are ‘making’ your own.
I would contact reflux solutions directly with your questions- I don’t happen to know a lot about OTC zegeridif you go to the upper right-hand corner of the screen & click ‘search’ then you can search for zegerid and search all forums and you can even go ‘back’ later than 6 months to learn from all posters who were here before you…March 15, 2011 at 8:31 pm #68009Anonymous

InactiveDid you get this sorted out? I assume by now you got your caracream max…you can use that with generic omep (same thing as zegerid basically).

InactiveI did recieve the CC max and we have been mixing it with the prevacid otc. The reflux is almost completely gone. He has had a couple of days where he seemed to have a small flare up, but other than that, working great. He has been spitting up like crazy though since starting with the CC Max. I called and spoke with David Stock with reflux solutions. He said that my LO probably needs the Bufferbabies instead of the CC max because he needs the extra buffer. Didn’t think of that before I ordered. So, I have order some Bufferbabies to see if this helps with the spitting up. David said he had other mom’s who had the same problems and switching to the Bufferbabies seemed to do the trick. Hope this helps with the spitting. Even if it doesn’t, I can deal with spitting up as long as the acid is under control.
