We just increased my DS’s Prevacid dosage on Wednesday, from 7.5 mg/day (which was doing almost nothing) to 7.5 mg 2x day. On Thursday afternoon he had one diaper with some dots of blood in it. Last night he had two and one this a.m. I’ve called the doctor and am waiting for a call back, but I’m worried she’s going to react by saying to go back to the earlier Prevacid dose–which isn’t helping!

Do you think this is related to the Prevacid??

Drops of ‘fresh’ blood? It’s red? If so this is from ‘lower down,’ meaning like a fissure/tiny tear. How is poop? Anyway I don’t think It’s from Prevacid? I’m no doctor, but… hellbennt2011-03-21 18:22:07

Thanks for the reply! I just posted above about our new issues, but the blood seems to be OK. It went away in a day or two and the doctor also suspected a little anal fissure–nothing related to the meds.
