Anyone else experiencing this? I posted in another forum as well but thought perhaps trying here would result in a few more replies.

She has had chronic clear phlegm and congestion since beginning neocate. It is causing extreme pressure in her sinuses and I’m suspecting another ear infection.

I have NO idea what else to give her. At 7 months, I’m counting the days until she is off of this formula.

Any ideas? What would you do?

I haven’t heard of Neocate causing phlegm? You said the phelgm started when she started Neocate? Is there any possibilty that she’s sick? What does the doctor say?

Laura – she has neupogen injections twice a week to boost her white count.

Rachel – yes – it started the same week we started neocate.

It was confusing b/c I wondered if her neutropenia was getting worse – but after researching a bit it looks like excess sugar can cause phlegm and mucus. Buried in a couple of other forums i found some moms who had babes that still have congestion on neocate. It’s just so clear and sticky – never been green – all 3+ months. It’s awful – I wonder if she’ll ever sleep on her crib mattress! Last night she coughed so much she threw up. I’m calling the ped again today – I just wish there was something else she could tolerate.
