hey I’m new here and this is my first time posting. I have a daughter
named Zoe who will be 2 months old on May 4 and she has silent reflux.
She was on 0.2 mL of pepcid twice a day and it wasnt working anymore
even after upping the dosage so the pedi put her on 2 mL prevacid
solutabs (15 mg) dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water once a day…its not
working and her reflux is getting worse. She was on similac sensitive
r.s ready to feed (similac sensitive for spit-up) but it was making her
very gassy so we switched to gerber good start gentle which seems much
better for the gas but its not thickened like the previous formula so
shes refluxing even more now especially since the prevacid isnt
working..I’m guessing the pedi doesnt know the correct dosage and she
doesnt see the GI until may 12. Shes 10 lbs if that matters…does
anyone know what her dosage should be for 10 lbs 2 months old because 2
mL once a day is obviously not doing much. Any suggestions on formula
for reflux and gas ? I tried adding rice cereal to her bottle myself but
she spits up even more…help?!?!

Hi. Read the mspi posts. Is she having any other symptoms besides the gas (rash, smelly bm, smelly gas, mucousy bm, congestion). She may have mspi and u might want to try alimentum or nutramagien. Maybe call ped and see what they think about formula switch. Also if its Mspi then she may be reacting to the solutabs, as alot of mspi babies do.

Again read all the mspi info and see what u think. I know that it seems like forever until the gi appt. Im waiting for our 1st one on may 16th. Good luck.

check pepcid dose (there’s a link from Prevacid 101, given below) &, if you have some, give it, too, making sure to space it 4 hrs from the prevacid.

check Prevacid 101 to find out correct prevacid dose and how to administer it.

you might have enough if you administer the whole thing, not just part of it diluted in some water? scroll to the last page of this post, (it’s actually also about other PPIs like prilosec, too)
