Well, I didn’t think it could have gotten any worse than Jenna. Boy, was I wrong. Simon spits up all the time, way more than she did, and worse yet, it comes out of his nose as well as his mouth, and he gags and chokes and (of course) panics. We’re thinking he’s either aspirating it or that he’s clearing out his lungs from when he did aspirate acid.
He’s on Alimentum now and has been for a few days. I know he has MSPI just like his sister did, because his eczema-like rash is pretty much gone. But he hardly drinks the Alimentum (Laura, I know you said to mix it with his old formula but we were more interested in a quick change in symptoms — I couldn’t stand seeing him in pain and had to make a tough choice), but what he does drink, he spits up, and like I mentioned above, a lot of mucus comes up with it, either out his nose or his mouth.
I know mucus is a sure sign of MSPI, especially in the stool, but has anyone experienced it coming out of the mouth or nose? Especially AFTER it’s begun to be treated? I’m hoping it’s just that he’s still clearing out the old junk that was in his system.
