My daughter who is now 4 months seems to be throwing up more often. Shes in more pain and with every feed it seems shes throwing up more. Shes on Nexium in the morning and I give her Zantac at night. (1ml) I am wondering why this is. I keep her up for 30 minutes and still shes throwing up as soon as I put her done. And boy can she cry her brains off. I feel like ripping my hair from my roots and maybe it wouldn’t hurt as much. Any ideas on why this s happening. Seems like the meds aren’t working for her. It’s been a long and painful 4 months for both me and my daughter. Now what do I do? I wish I had some answers and help but seems like all I have is a baby whose in pain

She may need an increased dose of Zantac? How much Nexium is she taking? Is it compatible with the dosing on the MARCI kids website?

Have you considered giving Nexium morning and night and skipping the Zantac? Have you ruled out MSPI?

hmmm vigil thats a good idea but the problem if I do that she will be crying from 1pm till the night time Nexium because it hurts that much. Whats MSPI?

Are you alreading giving it twice a day or just once? If just once I would recommend trying twice. Babies metabolize reflux meds really fast so many need to receive them 2 to 3 times a day. I split my son’s dosage into a morning and evening dose. If you need to use Zantac as well just remember that it can not be given with in 3 hours of Nexium. If that is not doing the trick then I would consider changing to a different PPI like Zegerid. Every child responds differently to different PPIs. Finding the right one is Key. I am a big big fan of Zegerid.

MSPI is a Milk Soy Protein Intollerance. It can disguise itself as reflux.

Thanks hellbennt. quick questions I am new mom and monday I have an appointment with our PEDIATRICIAN I was wondering what would be some good questions to him. I want to come prepared because seems like this will be the best time to get my questions and concerns out to him. Thanks everyone
