Amelia (7 months) just got diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying (DGE). She has had feeding problems since birth (feeding refusal). The doctor is recommending Reglan. He said
that he has treated babies with Reglan for 10 years and only once seen a
side effect. He would give Reglan to his own children. If we dont
want to do that, then Erythromycin is the other option. He would put
her on for a month and then take her off to see if there is any change.

I am very scared of Reglan, so we are trying to decide if we should try Erythromycin. Does anyone have experience with DGE, Reglan, Erythromycin, and/or other alternatives?? Thanks!

my son was on reglan, then I read about it and got him off of it- our ped GI didn’t argue. however, he did not have DGE, so it was really unecessary.

why don’t you just try the erythromyacin and see if it helps?

also do a search

go to the upper right-hand corner of the page & click on ‘search’ and then choose ‘all forums’ and also choose 6 months and OLDER so you can learn from all previous posters
