I am writing from Hong Kong and the Paed GI just prescribed Takepron to my 4 month old girl for her GERD. I’ve researched on the internet that Takepron is also lansoprazole and should be the same as Prevacid in the U.S. I wonder if anyone heard of this? The Takepron is in solutabs 15mg form and currently I would break it in half and administrate 1/5 of the tablet to my girl in the morning and the other half at early evening. I do add a tint of ribena as sweetening it as such seems to be the only way for her to take it without gagging or spitting up. Am I doing the right thing??

I googled it and yes it seems like prevacid

solutabs need to be given on an empty stomach, followed by a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later

also it can take up to 14 days for you to see the effect of the medicine. if you have any zantac, tagament, pepcid or axid as well, give this too, making sure to space it 4 hrs from the solutab
