I’m new to this forum so first I would like to say hi to everyone, secondly my daughter who is 7 weeks today just got her prescription changed from Axid to Prevacid today because the Axid was not working. She is to take 5mg a day and has the 15mg Prevacid Solutabs. The doctor told me to mix the tablet in 15ml (1 Tablespoon) of water and just let it dissolve. Then use the syringe and give my daughter the 5mg (5ml syringe) from the dissolved solution and store the rest for the next two doses. Has anyone else done this and does it still have the same effect if it has been stored for a couple days or should I cut the tablet into 3 and just dissolve it that way?

PS I have already dissolved the first tablet this way but I wanted to get some advice for the next one so I am not wasting them?

give the axid, too! make sure to give it 4hrs apart from the prevacid

the dose of prevacid sounds really low

I’d calculate proper dosing of BOTH the axid and the prevacid and go from there

you must give solutab on empty stomach, followed by a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later
