I am just wondering…my daughter is 1 and walking now. I tried to wean her off of zegerid with caracream recently, and of course her latest cold is hanging on forever, cough is acting up, and reflux is back (I hear it coming up in her throat). Her colds never go away until her reflux is under control – it is the weirdest thing.
SO, since zegerid already contains a buffer in it, and since she is older and bigger, why can’t I just give her zegerid without adding mylanta? Mylanta can cause loose stools because of the magnesium, which she doesn’t need anyway.
If zegerid works fine for adults without an extra buffer, why does a kid need a buffer? It would be so much easier/cheaper just to give her zegerid and mix it with some sweetener and milk to make it palatable. Would that be bad?
Thanks!
Mary
