Is anyone aware if Ped-GI prescribes Zegerid for a 3 month old. We are
having a lot of trouble getting Nexium or Prevacid in my daughter on an
empty stomach. She seems to have slow motility that keeps formula in
her stomach for hours and hours. I’ve confimred this with her throwing
up formula 2+ hours after eating.
I’m thinking Zegerid would help her since you can take it with food.
It depends on the doctor. Some will prescribe anything, some will only prescribe certain things. My pedi prescribed for us when our LO was 2 months old. For some reason around here it isn’t very known about or used. My pedi had never even heard of it a couple of years ago but will use it now since it did help our LO.
I would try the ‘ole TELLING dr that your baby needs a rx to zegerid. TELL that it comes in packets (you NEED the 40mg packet) and that it’s good for your baby bcse it’s a liquid (compound) that you make yourself.
