My daughter was on the Prevacid Solutabs. She started off with 5 mg daily of a 15mg tablet which meant I had to cut the tablets into thirds but the we switch my daughters pediatrician and she changed the dose to 3.75 mg daily of a 15 mg tablet so that meant I had to cut the tablets into quarter pieces. I asked the pediatrician if there was an easier way because it was a hassle cutting the tablets and the sizes were never the same and they ended up crushing when trying to cut them. So she said a compound (liquid form) would probably work good. I’ve read bad reviews on the compound but I am giving it a shot. Now when I tried to give it to her she hates the taste and she ends up spitting it up a couple minutes after giving it to her. I asked if there was a way of flavoring it for her and she said when she is able to eat solids I can mix it with them but she isn’t able to eat solids for another week. What should I do in the mean time? Also since it is in liquid form should I still wait 15 to 30 minutes before she eats or can I give it to her whenever?
I wasn’t sure if there has been previous posts on the same subject so I made a new one.
