My 5 month old has been on liquid Prilosec 2ml for almost 2 months now, and she constantly experiences purple spit-up following her bottle given after the medication. After doing some research, I was contacted by several people telling me that the purple in her spit-up is a result of the buffering agent being unstable, and being compromised by her stomach acid. So, in other words, the Prilosec is not really doing its job, b/c its being compromised before it has a chance to. After receiving several emails and reading many forums, it seems as though there is a recommended way to compound the Prilosec, in order to keep it stable. I can’t seem to find the formula, although I know I’ve seen it posted before. I remember reading something on Marc-kids.com, but that site seems to be gone? Anyway, can anyone direct me to this recommended formula? I’d like to print it out and show it to my pharmacist. Thank you!!
