zantac dosing is 10mgs per kilo.
Don’t just take my word on this!

Zantac dosing– my/other’s question (has axid & pepcid doses, too):

I’ll calculate zantac dosing for 10lbs:
10lbs = 4.5 kilos
maximum dosing for zantac is 10mgs per kilo
so 4.5 x 10= 45
that’s 45mgs total of zantac for the day
your bottle of liquid zantac says 15mgs/ml
this means that for every 1ml of liquid you give, there’s 15mgs of the medicine zantac in that 1ml of liquid
so: 45 divided by 15 = 3mls total for the day of zantac
you can divide into two or three doses and the doses do not have to be ‘even’
you must space zantac 4hrs from a PPI
as for the aluminum free tums: I would say the same would hold true. I’d go by comparing it to mylanta, since mylanta dosing is what I know to be true- that you can give up to 5mls in a 24 hr period
The cvs version of mcs has, Per Teaspoon (5mL): Calcium Carbonate 400 mg
so I’d give up to 400mgs of the tums (not sure of what form/dose they’re in) over a 24 period of time- & yes, if you see loose stools, ‘back off.’
