Someone recently asked me if there were any adverse side effects to the probiotic/enzyme supplements that I found to help my children’s acid reflux? I said that in my research I have found none. But if there were any I thought they would surely be bettter than the adverse side effects that Prevacid might have on my children. But then I decided to google “side effects to Prevacid” to see if there were any. This is the first and only site I opened. But I was shocked! I wanted to comment “And… thousands of BABIES take this stuff” 🙁 Someday soon I plan to post on there what I found to help my children so maybe I can help someone else.

anything’s possible! I don’t want to scare away parents whose babies really need a high dose of a PPI.

my son was FINE w/ prilosec (just didn’t work) and then FINE w/ prevacid (used w/ the ‘old’ product, but the new ones are now available)

Yeah, after I posted this I did a little more research. It does seem that Prevacid really can have some adverse side effects but I also found people that had been on it for years with no bad side effects. Quinton was on it from shortly after birth until he was almost 3 and Jackson till he was one. I was very glad to be able to take them off of it because I was worried about them someday having problems with it. But when we don’t know what else to do we have to use them.
