Taylor is now 12 days old and has been on Prevacid 7.5 mg since last Thursday. She hasn’t had enough time for the full effect of the medication yet so she is still having refluxing spells where all she does is cry and cannot be consoled esp. during feedings. What is the dosage of Mylanta Supreme on her I can’t remember how much to give. She is 7 lbs 8 oz. Is there something else I can use on her? What’s the zantac dosing again too? I can’t remember anything!

the website is marci-kids.com for the dosage info. but i could never figure it out with my sleep deprived brain. At that age, we gave dd 1/2 – 1 ml of mylanta and zantac. It says 1 mls 2x a day on the dx from when she was 8 weeks old. Are you remembering to give the prevacid on an emtpy stomach and waiting 30 mns. before feeding her? I hope she is feeling better soon!

Sorry about the crying… we know it must be so tough… i did a search around the forum…

MYLANTA – the doctor told us 2.5ml up to 6 times a day when Matthew was 2.5 months old. Someone else (Lauralee) posted that her doctor said 2.5ml up to 4 times a day for her baby when he was a ittle bit older…

ZANTAC – the marci-kids recommendation is between 5-10mg per kilo (or per 2.2lb). I know that Matthew’s ped in spain had him at around 8mg per kilo, so i am pretty sure that the range is correct. Somewhere else, ie in a leaflet for the ranitidine, i found that they recommended only 4mg per kilo… so i guess you can feel pretty confident about 4mg per kilo and up to 10mg

mylanta- you know you’ve given too much if it results in loose stools

zantac- yes 5-10mg per kilo- this is from the company website I do believe- links from my welcom/intro

do the calculations then divide by 15 to figure out how many mls it is…
