I am at my wits end again! The GI upped the meds about two weeks ago and everything was going fine. Spit up to a minimum, refluxing to a min. Everything was good. Now, Dakota is just acting like a fountain of spit up. My poor blanket on the floor! Logan is spitting up more too but now where near as much as the other. I know the docs say it is more of a laundry problem, but why now all of a sudden. They always spit up but no where near the amount they are now nor how often they are now. I swear Dakota is like the water fountain in the middle of a twon square where the water shoots out of the mouth, well in Dakota’s case it is formula, cereal, saliva, acid. Whatever the concoction. I have tried thickening the bottle even more but no luck. Any suggestions?Keri
PS. Joel if you read this, if you can go to an older post under meds about my boys dosage and question on solutabs. It says your name in the subject line. Or if you can give me you email, I will email it to you. I am still really confused. Thanks

InactiveHere’s Joel’s email address andresjj@health.missouri.edu
He was having computer problems at work for a while but said he is still answering emails from a coffee shop across the street.
Myles is puking all day long, too. I don’t why. Sorry it’s happening with your boys, too.
Wish I could help, but I’m in the same place right now.May 11, 2006 at 4:27 pm #7900Anonymous
InactiveJust heard from Joel yesterday. He said his computer’s still down. Hope things get better soon. Hang in there.

Keymastermeds don’t stop the spit up- they help w/ the pain.
are they in pain or have the meds helped with that?
are they gaining weight? if so, you don’t necessarily need to thicken & it’s ‘a laundry problem’
it’s more than ‘a laundry problem’ when pain and FTT are issues…

InactiveOh I know the meds don’t help with spit up, I am just at my wits end with the sudden increase in spitting up. They didn’t do it as much (when they did it before it was with alot of pain) but know especially Dakota is acting like a formula fountain and now today Logan is refusing his bottle AGAIN! Thick, thin, warm, room temp, doesn’t matter. He gets it in his mouth and just starts screaming. I know they are both teething so I am wondering if it is that. I am just so tired of the battle. I just want to win the war already.

InactiveTeething makes it worse! Also, what formula is he on? Bf? It was crazy… dd started throwing up a ton because the milk proteins started building up in her system and irritated the reflux. We also had to switch from the solutabs because she couldn’t handle the lactose. Also, are you thickening with a soy free cereal? Took me a few months to figure out what was going on and help her. Hope he feels better soon!
