InactiveMy little one is going to be 6 months old on the 23rd. I had to stop the 10:00 p.m. feeding because it was messing up his sleep cycle. Now he eats at 2:00 a.m. When can he go from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. He is on solids three times a day and gets 32 ounces with the 2:00 a.m. feeding so without it, he would be getting 26 ounces. Do you think I should keep feeding him or when he wakes up just put the paci back in his mouth and see if he can last to 6:00 a.m. Any info. would be great!

InactiveMy son was 6 months on the 7th. He is still up ounce a night for a bottle. If he is just talking in his bed I leave him, but when he cries I give him a bottle. He is a very active baby and I think he burns up a lot of the food he eats. My nephew was like that and he had a night bottle untill he was a year.
He is now a big straping 14 year old so I guess it paid off.I can’t stand the thought of him starving and not getting fed so I guess I will keep feeding him untill he does not want it anymore. he has slept through the night (7-7) without a bottle a few times and he wakes up at different times to eat so I don’t think it is a habit.
I guess I don’t really have any advice for you, but at least I can tell you that you are not the only one still getting up at six months.

Keymastertry an experiment to see if he’s really hungry or not

I posted all about this recently here- how I did it & how I ‘knew’ his reflux was under control and he wasn’t hungry, etc : https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4769&a mp;a mp;KW=experiment

InactiveMy 6 month old probably only eats around 20-24 oz a day(thickened) with about 1/3-1/2 jar baby food 2 times a day,he sleeps from about 7-30 to 7..around 6 months they start waking and eating from habit not hunger (usually) but every baby is different! ( he’s not hurting for pounds either-lol he weighs 19). When he wakes in the night, wait to see if he really starts to cry ( not the whimpers) then go in and see if you can get him back to sleep, if he stays asleep, then he’s probably just got in a routine of comfort feeding at night (my first did that).

InactiveMy 5 month old (2.5 months adjusted) sleeps from 10 pm till 10 or 11 am. He’s just on formula. He’s been slowly moving his bedtime earlier, he has gone to bed at 9 and still sleeps 12 hours.
I would try to phase it out, when he wakes up, go in, give him the binki, rub his belly, see if he will go back to sleep.
