AnonymousPlease read this. As I said earlier, I’m not sure if Dr. Newman is well known in the US b/c he lives in Canada, but he is recognized as a leader throughout the world.
I’m attaching a link on one of his articles about prescription drugs while breastfeeding. Please read it. If you scroll down to the part where he lists several drugs that are safe during breastfeeding, he specifically lists “tricyclic antidepressants, zoloft, paxil, and other antidepressants”.

I have seen him several times as he is in our city and corresponded with him via email when I was too ill to see him directly and he is SO amazing. If you want more information but are not comfortable emailing him, please let me know. I will do it for you.

I find it so sad when a mother feels that she has to choose between breastfeeding her baby and her own health. Dr. Newman gave me comfort to realize that isn’t usually the case.
