Any chance that you have OALD??? The fact that you say it happens right after the letdown, makes me wonder if it isn’t coming out so fast for him that he is gulping it down, swallowing air, and then his reflux acts up. This is what would happen to Ben ALL the time. The only way I could continue feeding him would be to switch sides, as you describe. It was almost as if he needed it to come out faster to wash it all back down.

I started taking him off the breast at the first letdown and letting my milk literally spray out until it stopped and then putting him back on. It helped alot.
