Is your son eating much for solids? If not, he may still need that middle of the night feeding, sorry to say! My 6 & 1/2 month old still feeds twice a night, but that is likely mostly due to the fact that she isn’t on solids. Even if she was on solids, she would likely still be up for at least one feeding. My first child, Ben, was eating lots of solids through the day at 7 & 1/2 months, but he was also still up twice a night for a bottle until he was about 10 months old, and then he cut back to once a night
. It wasn’t until he was 1 that he was ready to give up the night time feedings. Every child is different, I would just say don’t rush it.
If you really think he doesn’t need it, what I’ve read to do is cut back on the amount of formula/breast milk you are giving him during the night first. Then after a little while switch to juice, then switch to water, then try to discontinue the night feeding. This might take a couple of weeks to do.
Good Luck!
