InactiveI just wanted to share with you all that Caden (who used to only catnap 30 minutes at a time when his reflux was full force) is now taking a 2-3 hour afternoon nap almost every day!
I’m so excited that he is feeling so much better, and this is to let those of you who feel like reflux will never end that it WILL end and your baby will sleep eventually

Have a great week!

Inactivewow, how lucky you are. Gabby’s naps are still only an hour or two. Must be nice to get something done.

Hooray for long naps!
I hope mommy’s getting some rest too.

InactiveOk, maybe I should elaborate a bit on the naps…
I didn’t mean that he didn’t awaken at all during those 2-3 hours, but he can be nursed back to sleep for awhile rather than being wide awake and fussy after only 30 minutes.
Now that he is mostly (or maybe completely – still hard to tell some days) past his reflux, he will nap longer with maybe a nursing or two thrown in!
Still, this is SO much better than what we were dealing with when he was a newborn and dealing with reflux!
Thanks for the positive comments

I was hoping it might provide hope for someone who feels like their baby will never sleep. It’s nice to hear that they do begin sleeping well once they aren’t uncomfortable anymore.
Have a great day

InactiveThanks, Jill. Hang in there – you’re still in the early stages, and I know how hard it is. When Caden was 2 months old, I was literally counting the days until he turned 3 months, hoping that it would be a turning point for him (like it is for many babies with colic). When he didn’t really improve at 3 months, my new goal was 4 months! I went on like that in order to survive. It is so hard when they cry all the time. Finally, by 5 months, Caden was much better, and at 6 there was another huge turning point. Now that we’re at 7, I’m looking forward to continued improvement.
Take care!

InactiveFantastic news.
Not to dissappoint other mums, but Alana is reflux free and still only takes 30 to 45 min naps. There is just to much going on in the world to sleep any longer than that

InactiveGood point, Christine.
Some babies are catnappers by nature. I’m just thankful Caden has turned out to be a good napper now that he is feeling better.
