He is 15 lbs. 3 oz. and 25″ long. Both just over the 50th %ile. Quite a change from having Ben who is always over 90th %ile!!
She not worried about his less than round head and she is one that would tell me if she was, so it makes me feel better. She gave me the number to a plastic surgeon and said to call if it will reassure me, but I think we’ll just watch it.
And we have to stay on the expensive formula until 6 months and then switch straight to regular (or try). And stay on reflux meds until the switch is successful.
We can start solids, but I’m in no hurry. She said it should help his reflux…and she said cereal at night might help him sleep through, but some it makes it worse. I would like to see if the cereal at bedtime might help him sleep. But I want to try it in the morning first. So I might try first at Myrtle Beach next week so I’m with him all day.
She said she had just been to a seminar on reflux in infants. She said thickened feeds are an absolute last effort. Solids should help reflux. No need to step down formula from Nutramigen to regular, just switch all at once. I hope she knows what she’s talking about. Guess we’ll find out!!
