Well even though we had shots today and I’m sure will be having a
really rough weekend because of it (Marisa always get high fever and
aggravated reflux from shots), it was still a good doctor visit. Height
and weight are very good (height is particularly surprising as DH and I
are very short). She’s getting close on sitting up and started to crawl
today – all of a sudden army crawling!! So cute and exciting.Doctor upped her Pepcid dosage to 1ml twice a day and we can start
solids very slowly once she recovers from shots – skipping cereal and
“harsh fruits” and maybe going with avocado, potato, apricots… Doctor
is still concerned about her constipation but since it’s not as bad as
it was we are just watching for now.Hope she recovers from shots quickly and does OK with solids. It’s so crazy to watch her growing up!
Also – she is finally cutting a tooth. Bottom center left…

I think its a good idea skipping cereal, we have had no success at all with it. Definately recommend potato, its a big hit in our house.
They are growing up so fast! Tyler is my youngest so he will always be my baby no matter how big he gets . You have to make the most of this time, they become self sufficient so quickly and it sad when they dont need you as much anymore.

February 18, 2006 at 7:54 am #1814AnonymousInactiveThanks guys – actually no fever so far – am amazed. I guess maybe she
had such a strong reaction at 2 and 4 months that her body is used to
these specific ones? As for the tooth – it isn’t there yet but
definitely getting close I think…February 18, 2006 at 8:27 am #1817AnonymousInactiveWow Marisa! Tooth and crawling! What next? I am glad she is doing well with height and weight. Hopefully she won’t have a reaction at all to the shots (Isaac didn’t get one at the 6 month shots but reacted horribly at the earlier months shots). I hope the start over on solids works well!
February 18, 2006 at 9:44 am #1826AnonymousInactiveSounds like she’s doing great! Crawling is so exciting!
February 18, 2006 at 10:31 am #1832AnonymousInactiveThanks – it really is so darn cute. Total army crawl (although she can
also get her butt in the air and rock backwards a bit) – total exhausts
her and still frustrates her a bit but fun too.February 18, 2006 at 2:34 pm #1852AnonymousInactiveWay to go Marisa!!!!! It all happens so fast doesn’t it?
I vote for skipping the cereals as well. Our ped recommended the
start with veggies or avocado, potato, etc and Zach has done wonderful
on those and we can now even tolerate Oatmeal. Good luck – hope
it all goes well.February 22, 2006 at 10:01 am #2190AnonymousInactiveKaren
Finally a tooth! Seems like the poor girl has been teething forever!! You will see, Matthew already has 2 big front teeth and it seems likie yesterday when it all started!!
Crawling si great news too!!
February 22, 2006 at 3:39 pm #2214AnonymousInactiveHorray Marisa! They grow up so fast.
I think I’d skip the cereal too and go for bland veggies and fruits like like pears and bananas and maybe prunes eventually to help with the constipation.
February 22, 2006 at 6:03 pm #2222AnonymousInactiveThanks guys. Actually, Lisa – no pears or prunes for now (too much
sorbitol causing gas and cramping) or bananas until constipation under
control. Thinking avocado, white potato, apricots, plums maybe… And
peas.February 24, 2006 at 5:21 pm #2389AnonymousInactiveCongratulations and good work, mom!!!
