Our son was diagnosed with reflux at about 10 weeks. He’s on Prevacid twice a day and it’s really helped to keep it relatively controlled. He’s teething right now and even seems to be doing o.k. (other than a few more bouts of hiccups!).
Anyhow, we have his mattress at a 30 degree angle and have built a “nest” under his crib sheet as described on this forum. I think because of this, it took our son longer to roll over simply because the nest held him mostly in place. In any case, he’s now rolling over onto his tummy in the middle of the night and then is not able to get back over so starts crying.
I’m not sure if the nest keeps him from being able to roll back over onto his back or what because during the day time when he’s playing on the floor, he has no problems with it.
What has been everyone’s experience with rolling over? Do you end up taking the rolled up towels off the sides and just keeping a pillow at the bottom of the crib (under the sheet of course) so that there’s more room for them to roll around?
We’ve been going in, flipping him back over, rubbing his tummy for a second and then walking back out of the room. He might cry for a minute or two after that but then he puts himself back to sleep. What have you all done with this scenario?
Thanks so much for all of your help. This forum is an absolute godsend!
