Hey everybody,
I haven’t posted in quite a while, but I’ve got a question I know someone here will be able to answer. I’ve tried asking the nurse at the ped’s office, but she gives the standard party line answer which assumes that everyone has a child that conforms to textbook eating and sleeping schedules. (HA!
) Anyway, little Dani is 17 months now and is on 1/2 solutab Prevacid morning and night. In the last 12 months, she’s also had 10 sinus infections and has been on various and sundry antibiotics an average of every 6 weeks. But that’s a story for another time, unless someone knows something I don’t (which wouldn’t surprise me).
Getting back to my question, for some reason lately her reflux (which has been the silent type for at least the last 6 months) has been horrible the past couple weeks. Don’t know why but I feel like we’re starting from scratch again. She wants to nurse constantly, especially at night, but she’s not hungry. Nursing or walking doesn’t help, she just can’t get comfortable. The ped wants us to stick with the same old routine – Prevacid and Mylicon. So, here’s my question (finally!)… I know it’s supposed to be 2 hours after a meal, 30 minutes before. How do you handle that administration schedule with a toddler that wants to nurse constantly, or at least drink constantly? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
Tina
