Inactivetianna is doing fantastic with her eating disorder. she has maintained her weight for several months. the last time i weighed her she was 87 1/2 lbs. i had kassie stand on the scale the same day and she only weighed 89 lbs. i checked her again today and she was down to 88 lbs. she swears she isn’t doing anything—-meaning eating disorder behaviors like tianna has had.
the ped gi has been a little concerned about her ever since we figured out that tianna had an eating disorder because it is alot more likely for an identical twin to have an eating disorder also.
tianna keeps telling me that she sees kassie doing things that are eating disorder behaviors. i doubt that kassie would try purging because she is terrified of throwing up. i just don’t want to do this ED thing with another child.
i’m just kind of venting i guess. i just wish that life would get a little easier sometimes. i know that there are people that have it so much worse and that i really have alot of blessings—it’s just kind of hard to remember that when you are in the middle of things.

InactiveVent away! That is what we are all here for. It is really hard to deal with the unknown in your situation. I will be praying for you and your family. Big hugs

InactiveI’m so sorry. We are only dealing with reflux around here, so I can’t imagine have to figure in other eating issues as well. You’ve had the whole gamut from the looks of things. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

InactiveYour family motto must be “that which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger!” I don’t know how you do it. I sit here and foolishly believe life will be so much easier when they get older because I won’t worry so much. But that’s not true, is it?
I hope Kassie doesn’t go down the path her sister went, and I’m glad to hear Tianna is doing well.

InactiveOh no Christine! I really hope that Kassie doesn’t have an ED. I pray that the new year brings easier times for your family.

InactiveI just wanted to let you know that postive things can come out of all this. I was diagnosed with an eating disorder when I was in jr. high, but it got so bad in high school that I had to be hospitalized for it. As hard as that was, it saved my life. I went through lots of therapy and worked hard to get my weight where it should be. But the biggest thing was realizing the reason behind the eating disorder, and working on my self esteem and assertiveness skills. IT was the hardest thing I have ever been through, but like I said, it saved my life and I am such a stronger person because of it. I will be praying for you. I am an open book about my experience, so if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.
