InactiveLOL Lauren!… Sarah (my older daughter) is the only child who doesn’t sleep even on ativan at a dose that would knock out an adult.
That stinks… the sleep is often a welcomed side effect.

InactiveYikes! I vaguely remember something about motrin and certain illnesses, but I did not remember that it was chicken pox. How scary.
I hope the atarax works. I don’t know much about it except that a little girl I used to know took it for severe eczema and allergies. It supposed to help with itching.I hope Shane sleeps better tonight.July 21, 2007 at 8:18 am #39675Anonymous
InactiveOh no! Poor shane! I’m sorry to hear that he’s so uncomfortable. That’s a really high fever! Hopefully the atarax works, you both must be so tired. Why can’t you take motrin when you have the chicken pox?- good to know.

Inactiveoh nooo! i wrote this whole long thing and it disapeared!
basically, thanks lori~ and no motrin because it leads to reye’s syndrome when you have the chicken pox.and i was also saying that i think i overdosed shane on benadryl the other night.. that is what i think was going on, on top of the way he might act to benadryl to start with! what happened was.. i was giving him caladryl instead of calomine!! i thought caladryl was what i was supposed to give!! oops! soo caladryl is benadryl and calomine combined! and i was giving benadryl and caladryl at the same time all day! plus they say not to give caladryl to kids because you dont know how much of the benadryl they are absorbing!!poor baby.i felt horrible all night last night when i realized that! sooo.. everyone stay away from caladryl if you didnt already know that !July 21, 2007 at 5:23 pm #39690Anonymous
InactiveSo sorry to hear about Shane.
Isaac had chicken pox when he was one, but he only had a few spots and no fever. I sure hope Shane gets feeling better soon! I’ve heard that asprin or anything with asprin in it can cause Reye’s Syndrome, but I always was told Motrin and Tylenol were both safe. It’s so frustrating to hear conflicting advice about such a serious things! I’m glad your nurse let you know. Scary stuff.
