InactiveDoes anyone know if it is ok to give baby tylenol soon after prevacid? Also, Dr recommended a minimal dose of infant decongestant, will this have any side effect??
Cooper has a yucky cold and I’m pretty sure a sore throat, as my son and I are just getting over the same…
He is back to being up every 5 mins…

InactiveI’ve given Myles Tylenol plenty of times when he was on Prevacid. Usually I’d wait a 1/2 hour and give it to him with his feeding. You can probably give the cold medicine at the same time as the Tylenol. Just make sure it doesn’t also contain acetiminophen (the drug name for Tylenol) because then he’ll get an overdose of tylenol.
Which decongestant did he recommend? If ii has pseudophed it could cause restlessness, or sleeplessness. This doesn’t happen to all babies but it’s a common side effect.
Personally I like Benadryl for colds.
I hope he’s feeling better soon.

Inactivei would stay away from the decongestants, they can have weird side effects, and the FDA is thinking about pulling all of them for children under 6 years.
i also use benadryl along with plain tylenol for pain.

InactiveFor Adriana’s colds our doc always recommended saline nasal drops and using an aspirator. And also using a humidifier. Once when Adriana was really congested I was held hostage in my bedroom with the humidifier on 24/7. This was the only way she could breathe.
I used infants pedicare for colds once too. It didn’t do much. But our doctor said the cold meds could have an effect that gets them all wired and unable to sleep.
Oh and sleeping on a high incline helps. I had to sleep holding Adriana on my chest in a rocking chair all night. Talk about uncomfortable. I used the boppy under her butt to help hold her and tons of pillows.
Hope he feels better soon!

InactiveI used the infant pediacare decongestant. I gave him just the tiniest drop and he is finally off to sleep. I didn’t have a chance to get any during the day and finally was able to get out of the house around 8 pm, and he has been sleeping pretty well through the night so I honestly don’t know how much it is helping. He is breathing easier though.
I guess tomorrow will be the real test…
I have the humidifier on and vaposteam and he is on his wedge…
Question- if the corn in the alimentum powder was bothering him ( I am assuming this since he has done so much better on the RTF which has no corn ), would the corn syrup in these meds bother him also??
