Anyone have a BAD experience with zegerid

Hi ladies

I tried my dd on zegerid when she was 3 mnths old but stopped because

she hated the taste

She has NO problem with unflavored prilosec, problem is I can’t seem to

get it mixed the right way and we have issues after only 1 week

I am thinking about dumping the zegerid in her bottle, in hopes she will

take it that way (at least in the am?)

Has anyone had a BAD experience with zegerid…

Thanks..just nervous to switch her meds in fear things will get worse

I am about to try it as soon as I can get the prescription filled. I’ll let you know. My daughter is 8mths and HATES the unflavored compounded prilosec.

How much are you giving her, by the way?

I was giving her 2ml 2x a day, but just upped it to 3.7ml 3x a day. It’s giving her diarrhea. It’s been 4 days and I have seen no change yet.

I’d love to hear how zegerid goes when you add it to milk.

My dd is 10 mnths and about 22 pounds…she was prescribed 25mg of

prilosec but we only need to give her 20mg (she also gets pepcid before

bed…this made a HUGE difference in how she slept!)

I haven’t got the zegerid rx filled it…I’m scared

My ds is 17 mos old and has been on zegerid since he was 9 mos. We have had an EXCELLENT experience with zegerid. From what I understand, it is a fairly safe drug, I don’t think you need to worry execessively about side effects, etc. if that is your worry. In our situation, we went form compounded prevacid which was a horrible experience, and the zegerid helped immediately and Lucas only fought hte syringe the first few days because he had hated the prevacid so much. The zegerid has a mild taste that has never bothered him. We have done a lot of tricks to get him to take meds, singing while giving meds seemed to help a lot when he was much younger. Now he basically sucks it out of the syringe, and it’s never difficult to give. He weighs 24 lbs, and has taken 9.5 mls in the am and 9.5 mls in the evening since he was about 20 lbs or so. He uses the 40 mg packets and the solution is 2mg/ml. Joel (RefluxSol) should let you know more info soon. The best part about zegerid (besides that it helps them so much!) is that you don’t have to time it around meals. You give it anytime, regardless of when they have already eaten, or when they might eat after taking it.
