Well I have had a busy couple of days, we had dietician yesterday and GI today, and all is well.
I was really lost as to what foods to try next as Tyler cant seem to tolerate any fruit or cereal. His dietician said that it is really typical for MSPI babies to tolerate vegetables better as the proteins are easier to digest. Basically we are to try sweetcorn and if tolerated to move onto corn based cereals like maize, puffed corn, polenta, and I can make things with cornflour, corn pasta etc. Also we can try Buckwheat. Need to read labels very carefully though to check ingredients.
As far as fruits are concerned we can try watermelon and other melons, banana’s and grapes. There is so many things to try, but it is such a slow process.
GI is really happy with his progress. He will be on Elecare for quite some time to come and she wont reduce his Losec dose until he eats a wide variety of foods. His iron levels came back a little low so he is going to have an iron supplement. His IGA was in the normal range (23) which was good too.
My dh said to me the other day that Tyler is so much more enjoyable now, which is true. He has the whole bottle while you hold him now, and can even drink without the TV on (although he is a little addicted to Blues Clues, Wiggles and Bear in Big Blue House, Im a bad Mother I know).
My only boo-hoo is that he might have a problem with his hips as he has an extra crease in one thigh, so we are off for x-rays and ultrasounds in a couple of weeks. If its not one problem, its another isnt it?
