soo we went to shanes 9 month GI appointment. and the doctor really thinks he doesnt need to be on meds anymore! i have had him back on them the past month and at a higher dose the past week and havnt noticed a difference on or off. i thought i did for two nights and than he went back to bad for two more nights.. than one night good and than one night bad! soo no real rhyme or reason! and the doctor thinks that the mylanta would have helped when i tried it at night, and i saw no difference.. soo he thinks his night time issues could either be from reflux itself without acid and or teething or the way he sleeps! plus he thinks that he would show more signs of acid being in his spit up during the day when he spat up.
soo i think this is it with meds.. and hopefully by a year old he will slow down with the spitting! and the sleeps will get better !!
so this is our update! we’ll see how he does..
this whole process for the last 9 months have really taken a tole on me.. as i know most of you as well! Goodluck Lauren. I believe that you can only do what you think is right at the time given the information that you have. It sounds like right now this is what everything is leading you to…I really hope that it works out for little Shane
GOOD LUCK!!! That is encouraging that the doctor also agrees he doesn’t need the meds. Maybe Shane is just a squirmy sleeper for no reason! Like all the other moms on here TOTALLY relate with the frustrating guessing game. Hang in there and remember we’re still here for support…meds or not!!!!
I hope you can stay off the meds. Brianna is a squiry sleeper on or off meds, so maybe that is it.
As long as you don’t think he is in pain, I say give the no meds a go. Good luck!
