Hi everyone:
Just wondering, has anyone ever read or seen a poem about a baby and his/her blankie? Kayla had a blankie that used to be mine when she was little and it is in total shreds now (she finally agreed to get a new blankie when one of the pieces was lost at daycare). I have a bunch of the pieces as well as several pictures of her when it was big and in good shape and want to do up some type of shadowbox. I thought having a poem about how much blankie was loved would be so cute. Maybe we have poets on the site that would be willing to write one – that would be really cool too
. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!Robin
What a cute idea.
Here’s a poem I thought was kind of cute. This one was made for a scrapbook page. You could even just use part of a poem if the whole thing didn’t fit. Good luck!
BlankieAuthor:
Tammy AndersonThis has been my favorite blankie,
Since the day that I was born.
Even though it’s dirty, thin and frayed,
And just a little torn.
Mommy tries to coax me,
To let her wash out all the grime,
But I sneak it out from the laundry,
Just in the knick of time!
Saved from suds at least for now,
it goes everywhere with me.
It has my smell and the feel I love,
It’s my bedtime security.
Someday I will be brave enough,To give my cherished blankie away.
Then you’ll say how big I am,
And how that will be such a great day!
Long after I have grown up,
in my scrapbook I will see,
Pictures of that treasured blanket,
That was so special to me!

that is a great poem – THANKS so much!!!
Lori: That is a really cool idea – I just wish I had a picture of me with it. It was back in the days when they had to chisel the pictures out of stone (I guess I’m not quite THAT old but some days I feel like it
). I guess my mom wasn’t as picture crazy as I amRobin
