InactiveHello again!
I was wondering if anyone else is using the Dr. Browns bottles and if you have had this problem?
My son will start drinking and then act like he’s drinking from a garden hose at full speed! I pull the bottle out and the formula is half way up the straw. I crack the nipple ring a few times and finally it goes back down and he can drink normal. I tried a faster nipple, that was bad, went back to the stage 1, he’s only 2 mos old. Called the Dr. Brown number and they said do not shake the bottle, I dont. Don’t use hot or really warm water, I don’t. Crack the nipple ring a couple of times, tip bottle up till nipple fills and then let him drink. I did that and NOTHING helps.
Any advice???????????????????? This is driving me crazy and takes a long time to feed this way but bottle do help with gas.

Inactivewow, I’ve been using them since Aidan was born and have never had this issue (and I DO use really hot water and shake the bottle
)Maybe you’re getting little clumps of formula that are clogging things up somewhere??November 14, 2006 at 1:13 am #17971Anonymous
InactiveI haven’t had any probs with them either. Occassionally i notice some milk in the inner bit, unscrew the cap, rescrew and no probs. But only ever occasionally. Do all your bottles do it, could they be faulty. MMM don’t really know- sounds like a pain though!

InactiveI have a problem with formula in the straw if I fill the bottle a little pass the fill line or if it takes Taylor a very long time to drink her bottle which it typically does the formula does back up into the straw. I just unscrew the top once she is close to the end of the bottle and formula leaves the straw and goes into the bottle but only if there is an ounce or so left in the bottle.

InactiveI stir for a long time but still have to pick out a spoonful of formula clumps otherwise they’ll block the nipple. The only time we’ve had the problem you’re talking about is when there’s a clump blocking the valve. More often for us though it’s a clump blocking the nipple hole which is always fun (not).

InactiveWeird – we’ve never had that problem. We have had the problem that Sue described though, but that’s easy to fix so it’s not a big deal.
