My LO is on liquid Zantac and I have read taht some pharmacies are compunding pharmacies and will mix it without alcohol. I called CVS, which is the one we normally use and they do not. Any idea where I could locate a list of which ones do? Does anyone know what pharmacies will do this?
Would you be willing to try the zantac efferdose? It doesn’t contain alcohol and apparently tastes pleasant. I believe that your doc needs to specify it in the script.
I don’t have a list of compounding pharmacies for you but have been told that they are usually the ones located in hospitals or independents not the chains.
all you have to do is go to any pharmacy. i had both osco and walgreens make me zantac without alcohol and without the peppermint flavor. you just have to ask
though some places will give you an attitude…but oh well, you do whats best for your babe, who cares what they think
Natalia, Did they tell you how they made it without the peppermint? When we had Hailey on zantac I went around to everyone trying to make it without the mint flavour. We even went to the best compounding pharmacy in the city. They told us that the powder itself has the peppermint flavour i it, so no matter what it will taste like mint.

they didnt use the actual zantac brand. they apparently used a generic zantac. does that sound right Lori?
You’d know better than me who’s right on that issue- our generics are different than yours… and after our experience, I stopped knowing who’s right and who’s wrong when it comes to compounding medications.
