Hey I was going to make a pumpkin pie and need to obviously make a crust. Does anyone know whether or not if I use Crisco instead of butter whether or not that will have any affect with MSPI???
I read the ingredients and it does have soybean oil in it… is that still considered soy protein??? Is it any kind of soy that I have to worry about??
This is very delayed & I apologize (b/c I’m sure you already made your pie)… we had LOTS going on over Thanksgiving.
Anyway, if that’s the only suspect ingredient then I probably would have gone w/ it… in general, soybean oil does NOT have soy protein in it. Generally, even soy allergic kids/adults can tolerate soy oil fine. When I was nursing I ‘allowed’ it & now Evan eats things w/ it in it (he is soy allergic).
